A 33-year-old man died in a car accident occurred on the Fondo Valle Sele, the state road that connects the province of Salerno in Alta Irpinia, in the territory of the Irpinia municipality of Calabritto.
The victim, a resident of Caposele, where he lived with his family, was headed to Lioni where he worked.
According to an initial reconstruction, the car skidded on a semi-curve before crashing into the protective barriers of a viaduct.
The man was thrown from the passenger compartment and fell thirty metres into the void while the car remained balanced on the viaduct.
On site were the Fire Brigade from the Lioni and Montella detachments and the Carabinieri from the Senerchia, Calabritto and Montella stations. The man's lifeless body was recovered at dawn.
