During these concerts, the acoustic sounds and traditional instruments of the Chilean group will mix with the sounds and words of Giulio Wilson. The events will be moments of sharing to raise awareness among the public on issues dear to the artists, through the songs of the album AGUA.

An Unprecedented Artistic Collaboration Project

AGUA is an artistic project realized between Florence and Santiago de Chile, with a pre-recording composition phase in Florence and recording in Santiago. The project, coordinated by the record producer Paolo Maiorino, fuses the traditional and rich sounds of Andean music with alternative Italian songwriting. This combination has given life to a new musical and narrative style for the Chilean group, which is among the most famous in the world.

Current Issues and Social Commitment

Giulio Wilson and Inti-Illimani sing about current issues, such as climate change and the recovery of human values, with tones of hope. With the artistic production of César Jarra and Valter Sacripanti, Inti-Illimani's music becomes sustainable together with Wilson, at the service of environmental protection and interpersonal relationships. Their art aims to contribute to the development and diffusion of environmental awareness by speaking to all generations.

Instrumentation and Collaborations

AGUA is an album of pure “artisan conception”, with typical instruments of Andean music such as the bagpipe, the Quechua, the Bolivian charango and the Venezuelan cuatro, and with the guitar and piano of Giulio Wilson. No electronic sounds or computer effects are contemplated. Among the artists who have collaborated on the project are Davide Pieralisi, Juan Flores, Mauricio Campos, Magdalena Pacheco, Cristian Pratofiorito, Roberto Bassi and Valter Sacripanti. This tour represents a great opportunity to listen live to a unique project, capable of combining music and social commitment in a union that looks to the future with hope and determination.

INTI-ILLIMANI

Inti-Illimani (1967) is a compound name that comes from the Quechua Inti and the Aymara Illimani and means "Sun of a mountain near La Paz, Bolivia". The group, composed at the beginning by a group of young students from the Technical University of the State of Chile, arose within the movement called "The New Chilean Song" that developed between 1965 and 1973. Since 1973 they have settled in Europe, specifically in Italy. Since the 80s their career has been distinguished by many successes, reaching the top of the Italian charts and collecting countless Gold and Platinum records. Inti-Illimani boasts millions of records sold all over the world, with presentations and concerts in more than 58 countries. The band has shared the stage and performed with artists of great importance such as Bruce Springsteen, Sting, Peter Gabriel, Tracy Chapman, John Williams, Paco Peña, Mercedes Sosa, Silvio Rodríguez, Milton Nascimento, Danielle Silvestre, Lucio Dalla, Pablo Milanés, Francesca Gagnon, Arja Saijonmaa, Holly Near, Joan Baez, Marta Gómez, Isabel Parra, Georgina Hassan, Víctor Heredia, among others, playing in the most renowned stages around the world. In 2017, the Chilean band celebrated 50 years of uninterrupted artistic career, an anniversary celebrated with a tour of Chile and two sold out concerts at the Teatro Caupolicán in Santiago.

JULIUS WILSON

Giulio Wilson, a Florentine singer-songwriter, alternates his passion for music with his work as an oenologist and wine producer in Tuscany. His artistic career began with the album “Soli Nel Midwest”, produced by Enzo Iacchetti. He has collaborated with many artists, including Vinicio Capossela, Roberto Piumini, Bobby Solo, Roy Paci, with I musici di Francesco Guccini, and with Inti-Illimani, precisely.

Wilson has received numerous prestigious awards: “Materiale resistente 2.0; the Targa Mei in 2017 as “Best singer-songwriter”; in the same year the artist won the BMA Bologna Musica d'Autore competition. In 2018, the Anacapri Bruno Lauzi absolute prize, and, in 2019, the Bertoli Prize; the Critics' Prize at the Voci per La Libertà – Una canzone per Amnesty 2019 competition; he won the 1Maggio Next2019 competition and performed on stage at the Primo Maggio Concert in Rome. In 2018 the Ep “Futuro Remoto” was released; in 2021 he published the album “Storie vere tra Alberi e Gatti”, a collection of songs “out of time”.
