Illegal parking attendants – On the occasion of the Napoli-Atalanta match, played on November 3, 2024, the Naples Local Police Command launched an extraordinary operation to ensure compliance with safety regulations and preserve urban decorum. The checks, intensified due to the influx of fans and visitors, involved 47 operational units, including three officers and 44 agents, with the aim of monitoring irregularities related to road traffic, public safety and commercial activities.
During the operations, five illegal parking attendants were identified and fined; three of them were also reported to the competent authorities. The traffic control activities led to the issuing of 115 fines for traffic violations and the removal of 75 vehicles, including 15 scooter, while a car was seized for lack of insurance. Among the irregularities found, three violations were also found for illegal occupation of public land, based on article 20 of the Highway Code.
Regarding commercial security, seizures of material sold without a license were carried out, in application of Regional Law 7/2020, which provides specific authorizations for the exercise of trade. In total, more than 330 packages of drinks and sweets were confiscated, along with the equipment used for unauthorized sales.
The operation, organized to ensure the tranquility and safety of citizens during the important sporting event, reflects the commitment of the Local Police in combating the phenomenon of illegal trading and violations that compromise the safety and decorum of the city.
