Caserta. An alleged million-dollar scam ring linked to building bonuses shakes the Caserta area. An accountant and 15 other entrepreneurs have ended up under investigation on charges of having unduly collected over 5 million euros, certifying renovation work that was never carried out.
According to the prosecution, the accountant had developed an ingenious system: by falsifying documents, he had his clients obtain tax credits for renovation work that was never carried out, taking advantage of the incentives provided by the relaunch decree.
The investigation, conducted by the Public Prosecutor's Office Santa Maria Capua Vetere, has brought to light an alleged ring of false attestations involving several municipalities in Campania and Molise. The suspects now risk trial for aggravated fraud against the State.
