Naples – A 34-year-old man was arrested by the Police of State on charges of aggravated theft, resisting a public official and receiving stolen goods. The events took place last night when the officers of the San Ferdinando Police Station intervened in via dei Mille following the report of a stolen motorcycle.
Upon arrival at the scene, officers intercepted an individual on a scooter while he was pushing a motorcycle with the engine off. The man driving the motorcycle, having spotted officers, dropped the motorcycle in an attempt to escape, escaping on his accomplice's vehicle.
The chase saw the scooter driver perform dangerous maneuvers until he lost control of the vehicle in via Carlo Poerio. The man then attempted to escape on foot, but was arrested by the police while his accomplice managed to escape towards piazza dei Martiri.
Subsequent checks revealed that the scooter used in the theft had been stolen in the late afternoon. Both two-wheelers were returned to their rightful owners.
