Naples - A 34-year-old man was arrested by the Police State police charged with aggravated theft, resisting a public officer, and receiving stolen goods. The incident occurred last night when officers from the San Ferdinando Police Station responded to a report of a stolen motorcycle on Via dei Mille.
Upon arriving at the scene, officers intercepted a man on a scooter pushing a motorcycle with its engine off. The man riding the motorcycle, upon spotting officers, dropped the bike in an attempt to flee, fleeing on his accomplice's vehicle.
The chase saw the scooter rider perform dangerous maneuvers until he lost control of his vehicle on Via Carlo Poerio. The man then attempted to flee on foot but was arrested by police, while his accomplice managed to escape toward Piazza dei Martiri.
Subsequent checks revealed that the scooter used in the theft had been stolen in the late afternoon. Both two-wheelers were returned to their rightful owners.
