Castel Volturno – Demolition and disposal operations began today on the illegal structures, known as “calacala”, which have occupied the banks of the Volturno River for years.
The intervention, promoted by the Province of Caserta in collaboration with the Carabinieri Forestali and financed by the Campania Region, it aims to restore legality and protect the environment in an area marked by degradation and urban planning problems.
The demolition of the illegal structures represents a significant step in the process of redevelopment of the territory, within a broader program of recovery of the river areas to restore decorum and safety to the citizens.
This morning, following the start of the operations, the President of the Province of Caserta, Marcello De Rosa, was also present, who underlined the importance of the initiative for the fight against illegal building and the protection of the natural heritage of the Volturno.
