This morning, in the presence of the prefect of Naples Michele di Bari, a meeting of the Provincial Committee for Public Order and Safety was held, convened to address the critical issues related to the management of escape routes in the Campi Flegrei area in the event of bradyseismic phenomena.
The meeting was attended by leading institutional figures: in addition to the Councilor for Legality and Local Police of the Municipality of Naples, the Police Chief, the Provincial Commander of the Carabinieri, the representative of the Provincial Command of the Guardia di Finanza, the Director of the Highway Patrol Section, the Deputy Commander of the Fire Brigade, the Commander of the Local Police of Naples and the representative of the Metropolitan Police were present.
The participants also included the mayors of Phlegraean municipalities of Pozzuoli, Bacoli and Monte di Procida.
At the heart of the debate is the need to ensure adequate planning of escape routes in an area characterised by high seismic risk and a road system put to the test, especially in the summer months, by significant traffic flows.
Prefect Di Bari emphasized the urgency of action: “It is essential to prepare effective measures, considering that the Campi Flegrei are crossed by significant volumes of traffic and that the traffic problem is aggravated by the psychological component, with the fear of the population amplified by possible earthquakes linked to bradyseism”.
Following the discussion, the prefect announced the convening of a technical meeting, which will be coordinated by the Highway Police and will see the participation of the mayors of the municipalities involved, the Provincial Fire Brigade Command and the Regional Civil Protection.
The aim of the meeting will be to define a shared plan for traffic, identifying routes that make escape routes quickly accessible in the event of events capable of generating alarm among citizens. A concrete step to respond to the security needs of a territory as fascinating as it is complex.

This morning's meeting seems to have been important, but there are many problems to solve for the road system. The Campi Flegrei are a beautiful area but very risky in case of earthquakes, I hope that quick decisions are made.
Yes, I agree with you. Something needs to be done for the safety of the people, even if the time for decisions can be long and complicated. I hope that no more time is wasted.
Escape routes must always be ready. We cannot wait for something bad to happen before we act. This is a serious problem and I hope all municipalities will cooperate as they should.
