“The University of Salerno is an excellence in Southern Italy, and not only. It is a star that shines at an international level, a bit like Maradona's Napoli, because it can also play with the world's greats”. With these words, the director of Tg2 Rai, Gennaro Sangiuliano (who also directs the School of Journalism of the University of Salerno), opened the fifteenth edition of UnisaOrienta, the annual event that the University of Salerno dedicates to incoming orientation and welcoming future freshmen, curated by the University Center for Orientation and Tutoring in collaboration with the 17 Departments promoting the 80 courses of study of the University of Salerno. “Hurry up, guys. After the final exam, don't get distracted. Time is a decisive factor”, the appeal to high school students made by the rector of the University of Salerno, Aurelio Tommasetti. “We are the university that has focused on the quality of research, entering the world top 400, conquering 15th place in Italy and first in the Center-South. The flag that flies high, ideally, in our University, is that of merit. Because we are convinced that we must support the last but also reward the first. For the third year we are refunding fees to those who are up to date with exams”. Students from 2019 high schools in Campania took part in the first plenary session of UnisaOrienta 13. UnisaOrienta, with the aim of bringing students closer to the university reality and offering them useful tools for an informed choice of their future study path, will end on Friday 15 February.
