It will remain for now in prison the 29enne Francis Plumitallo, in prison since Tuesday 14 November for killing at home a capodrise, strangling her, her 54-year-old mother Patrizia Vella Lombardi (known by the name of Rosa).
This was established by the Preliminary Investigations Judge of the Court of Santa Maria Capua Vetere Alessandra Grammatica, who validated the arrest and issued a prison order.
However, the investigating judge has also decided, accepting the request presented by the 29-year-old's lawyers, Raffaele and Gaetano Crisileo, to order a psychiatric assessment on the young man through the evidentiary incident, a tool that allows the evidence to be crystallized already in the preliminary investigation phase.
The specialist examination, for which Professor Raffaele Sperandeo was appointed (a consultant appointed by the lawyers to the psychiatrist Giovanni D'Angelo, who had already treated the young man), will have to establish whether Plumitallo, who has been under treatment for some time at the Department of Mental Health of the ASL of Caserta, has the capacity to understand and want and to stand trial. The assignment of the task to carry out the evidentiary incident will be on the 23rd of November.
Plumitallo confessed to the crime, and he did so both shortly after committing the murder in the offices of the State Police Station in Marcianise - on Tuesday morning he himself alerted 113 of what he had done - and yesterday morning, when he was questioned by the judge for preliminary investigations to validate the arrest: in both circumstances the 29-year-old said he had strangled his mother while she was with her back turned and busy preparing him breakfast, as he had been overcome by a sudden fit of rage and confusion due to the fact that he had not taken the medicine prescribed by the doctor from the Department of Mental Health who is treating him.
Meanwhile, today the autopsy will be held on the body of 54-year-old Patrizia Vella Lombardi, and the funeral can be scheduled afterwards.
