Naples, three short films close the Mix Your Media School

The Foundation's new project Campania of Festivals.

It will be the America Hall cinema in Napoli to host next Wednesday, from 10.30:13 to XNUMX:XNUMX, the final day of Mix Your Media School, the project of education to images and new media promoted by the Campania dei Festival Foundation directed by Ruggero Cappuccio in primary and secondary schools. The highlight of the event, moderated by a special guest such as the actor Giovanni Esposito, will be the screening of the three shorts created by students of the schools that participated in the project: the three comprehensive institutes IC 4 “Sulmona – Catullo – Salesiane” of Pomigliano d'Arco (NA), IC 1 “Ariosto” of Arzano (NA), IC “Parco Verde” of Caivano (NA), and the two secondary schools ISIS “Alfonso Casanova” of Naples and IIS “Francesco Saverio Nitti” of Portici (NA).

The works are the result of training, theoretical and practical workshops that, starting from October, have involved 350 students, with the aim of educating them on the use of libraries of materials accessible online and the creation of cross-media audiovisual content, starting from those released with Creative Commons licenses and tools, broadening the debate on issues related to intellectual property and the use of cultural heritage through a reflection on the devices typical of the new generations, including social networks and streaming platforms.

During the Wednesday morning event, a film, curated by the Fondazione Campania dei Festival, will have the task of documenting the various learning phases and the passionate commitment of the 13 teachers who animated the project, while a video, produced by the Film Commission, will let us experience the highlights of the backstage. Some short institutional interventions are also planned, starting with those of Alessandro Russo and Nadia Baldi, general secretary and vice artistic director of the Fondazione Campania dei Festival, and of Dr. Bruno Zambardino (General Directorate of Cinema and Audiovisual of the Ministry of Culture). Important representatives of the project partners will also give their testimony: Dr. Fulvia Guardascione (Film Commission Regione Campania), the lawyer Deborah De Angelis (Italian Chapter of Creative Commons), Riccardo Iuzzolino (Head of LIST scarl), and Dr. Monica Cacciatore (Associazione Riferimento Scuola). The school principals Bartolomeo Perna, Teresa Laudanna, Immacolata Iadicicco and Professor Chiara Cimini will then speak, as well as the expert trainers Luca Ciriello and Rosa Maietta.

The Mix your Media School project proposal, which also includes Anec among its partners, is implemented within the framework of the National Cinema and Images Plan for Schools, promoted by the Ministry of Culture and the Ministry of Education and Merit, and was selected in 2023 among the innovative experimental initiatives for the promotion of critical approaches, practices and cutting-edge teaching methodologies for the audiovisual sector.
