The timely phone call made by the husband to the Carabinieri Station allowed his wife to be stopped a few moments before she committed the insane act and saved her life.
It happened just before 12.00 today when a man with a trembling voice called the Carabinieri of a small station in the province of Benevento reporting that he had found in the house a letter written by his wife who only a few minutes earlier had hastily left on board their car in the direction of Valle di Maddaloni, in the Caserta area.
The man, very worried, told the soldier on duty that the letter indicated that his wife intended to take her own life.
The immediate communication between the Army departments of the two provinces allowed searches to be activated by the patrols in the circuit.

And so it was that along the road that leads to the Carolino Aqueduct, right in the territory of Valle di Maddaloni, thanks to the detailed information provided by the husband about the woman's car and clothing, the Carabinieri of the local station managed to intercept her.
When the woman saw the police, she locked herself in the car.
At the sight of the soldiers, the 36-year-old, in a confused and highly agitated state, immediately stopped the march by locking herself in the car and continually repeating that she wanted to end it.
Only after a long negotiation did the woman open the door and start a calm conversation with the police who managed to calm her down and entrust her to the care of the "118" medical personnel, who in the meantime had been sent to the scene.
