Waiting for the firefighters could have proved fatal, so the two officers decided to intervene immediately. Using all their strength, they managed to tear down an iron gate and enter the house.
Inside, the scene was dramatic: the woman was lying unconscious on the bed, next to her were packages of drugs and bottles of alcohol, probably ingested shortly before. Without hesitation, the carabinieri began resuscitation maneuvers while waiting for the ambulance. The timely arrival of 118 allowed for emergency transport to the Pellegrini hospital, where doctors were able to stabilize her.
