The Neapolitan song Napulitanata seduces the audience of Oporto and becomes queen of the SEA and YOU festival in the company of fado and flamenco.
A 6 month long festival that will end in Napoli on April 26.
The thunderous “Vesuvius” of Workers' Group 'E Zezi – on the 30th anniversary of the folk anthem – and Renato Carosone's diabolical and hilarious musts, from “Pianofortissimo” to “Tu vuò fa l'americano”.
And again, the grace of “Santa Lucia Luntana” and the torment of “Cinematografo”, according to the sharp pen of EA Mario. Until the farewell on the mood of “'O sole mio”, which moved the Portuguese audience that flocked to the Auditorio Forum da Maia in Oporto.
Sold out with 600 spectators enchanted by the melodies and rhythms of the Neapolitan school, which in this whirlwind international project - conceived and coordinated by the Napulitanata association - share the stage with the anthology of fado and the roots of flamenco.
The Portuguese concert once again let the underground and explicit affinities between the three musical sisters of the Mediterranean shine through, and so did the wait for the show final that will be held in Naples on April 26th is already becoming a thrill. Also because that evening there will be a couple of surprises imagined specifically for the audience of residents and tourists.
After a series of night-time jams between Neapolitan musicians, Andalusian musicians and the tripeiros, the live concert on Saturday 17 February saw the performance of the three artistic groups in what has now become one of the most persuasive fragments of the show: “'O mare e tu”, a choral homage to the song written by Enzo Gragnaniello.
Currents, waves and transparency find synthesis in the three songs for a version in three languages. Sealing wax on a festival that is unique in the European panorama.
