Thanks to the acquisition of the IP address of the fake ad, published about a month ago on a well-known online sales site, and the bank details provided to receive the payment for the proposed garage, the Carabinieri of the Roccamonfina Station, in the Caserta area, have identified and reported at large for fraud in competition three people, all belonging to the same family unit.
The mother, father and son, already known to law enforcement, had carefully orchestrated the scam, publishing photos and details of a removable sheet metal garage that had never actually been theirs.
The unsuspecting victim, attracted by the advantageous offer, expressed the intention to proceed with the purchase. The scammers immediately requested a deposit of 240 euros to be paid by bank transfer.
After receiving the requested sum, the three stopped all communication and never delivered the box. The immediate investigations carried out by the Carabinieri following the victim's complaint allowed them to unmask and report the perpetrators.
