The rigorous checks, carried out by the Carabinieri of the Maddaloni Company with the support of the Italian Army, as part of the "prevention and suppression of waste fires and related illegal conduct" services, led to the identification of an unauthorized dump site in the municipality of Maddaloni, which was found to contain hydrocarbons.
Following immediate checks, the military traced the unloading activity back to a local transport company, owner of the yard.
Further investigations, carried out on site, allowed us to verify that inside the pit, which was 8 metres long and 2,5 metres deep, there had been used oil discharged and waste materials, originating from maintenance and washing activities of heavy vehicles, which are also unauthorised.
The owner of the reported area
The owner of the company was reported at large and will have to answer for unauthorized dumping activities.
The entire area, approximately 500 square meters, was placed under preventive seizure.
