NOver the weekend of September 13-15, 24 road deaths were recorded in Italy, a decrease from the 29 of the previous weekend.
According to the data provided from Asaps (Association of Supporters of the Highway Police), the deceased included 9 motorists, 11 motorcyclists, 3 pedestrians and 1 cyclist. The youngest victim was 19 years old, while the oldest was an 88-year-old woman; 8 of the victims were under 35 years old.
There were two fatalities in one accident, while 11 of the fatal accidents were caused by the vehicle leaving the road without involving others. Of the 24 accidents, 13 occurred on state and provincial roads.
Puglia is the region with the highest number of victims (7), followed by Veneto, Emilia-Romagna and Campania with 3 each, Piedmont with 2, and one victim each in Liguria, Trentino-Alto Adige, Umbria, Abruzzo, Lazio and Sicily.
