Ethan Case, Mother Received at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs

Rome. Claudia Ciampa, the mother of Ethan, the little boy of just 6 months taken away from his father and taken to the United States, was received today at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The meeting with representatives of the Ministries of Foreign Affairs, Interior and Justice brought a breath of optimism.

Italian institutions are working tirelessly to bring Ethan home. The Task Force on Contested Minors, established in 2009 and specialized in cases of international child abduction, has placed the case of the little Italian-American at the center of its activities. “Ethan’s case is an absolute priority,” declared a senior official of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

“I am confident that my son will soon return to my arms”, he said with a trembling voice Claudia Ciampa Ethan's mother. “I thank the institutions for their commitment and I hope that Ethan’s father realizes the pain he is causing.”

Meanwhile, the investigation is proceeding at a rapid pace. Investigators are working closely with US authorities to track down the child. “We have elements that give us hope,” said an investigator involved in the case, without providing further details.

The woman's lawyer stressed the importance of international collaboration. "International child abduction is a complex phenomenon that requires a coordinated response at a global level.
