Mugnano. Two months to go until New Year's Eve, and in just a few hours the second seizure of illegal fireworks has already taken place. The Carabinieri of the Qualiano station have arrested a 34-year-old, with no criminal record, for illegal possession of explosive material.
The man was stopped in the parking lot of a shopping center in Mugnano. 48 unconventional pyrotechnic devices were found in his vehicle and, during a subsequent search of his home, another 182 similar devices were discovered.
The seized material was handed over to the bomb disposal squad of the Provincial Command of Naples. The 34-year-old is currently in custody, awaiting trial.
