A 44-year-old man, resident in Casal di Principe in the province of Caserta, already under house arrest, was arrested on charges of mistreating his mother. According to reports, the man subjected her to continuous psychological and physical abuse.
The order of precautionary custody in prison was issued by the judge for preliminary investigations of the Court of Naples North at the request of the Public Prosecutor's Office of Aversa. The arrest was carried out by agents of the State Police of the Police Headquarters of Caserta.
The 44-year-old had already been arrested on November 19 for evasion, caught outside his home near a shop. During the arrest, he had attempted to resist the officers, threatening and publicly insulting them. In addition to evasion, he was charged with the crimes of threatening and resisting a public official, leading him directly to prison.
Subsequent investigations revealed that, during the period of house arrest, the 44-year-old had imposed a life of terror on his mother, made of abuse, harassment and threats to extort money. The order for the new crimes of mistreatment in the family and extortion was notified to the man directly in prison by the agents of the Casal di Principe Police Station.
