Last night, the staff of the State Police, of the Carabinieri and the Municipal Police carried out an extraordinary service of territorial control in Portici.
In particular, the agents of the Portici-Ercolano Police Station, together with the Carabinieri of the Portici Station and the Municipal Police personnel, identified 125 people, 31 of whom had a police record, and reported one for failure to comply with the Authority's provisions. 50 vehicles were also checked and 30 violations of the Highway Code were contested.
During the service, following a report received from the local Operations Room, the police officers of the Police Station intervened at some garages in via Gianturco in Portici for an alleged theft. The officers, who arrived quickly on site, found a garage with the shutter open and the electric lock tampered with, with a person inside.
The latter, having noticed the presence of the police, attempted to escape but was stopped, as she was found to be in possession of a folding knife with a 17 cm blade, several burglary tools and a set of wrenches just taken from the box.
From subsequent investigations, the officers verified that the man had also forced the lock of another garage nearby.
The individual, a 37-year-old from Torre del Greco with a police record, was then arrested for aggravated theft and reported for carrying objects capable of offending and unjustified possession of altered keys or lock picks. The stolen goods were finally returned to their rightful owner.
