The Civil Protection of the Campania Region, in light of the assessments of the functional center, has issued a Yellow weather alert for scattered precipitation, including heavy showers and thunderstorms that will persist throughout Campania, with the exception of Zones of Interest 4 (Alta Irpinia and Sannio) and 7 (Tanagro), from 9 am tomorrow, December 13, until 9 am on Saturday, December 14, 2024.
For the Zones of Interest 5 (Tusciano and Alto Sele), 6 (Piana Sele and Alto Cilento) and 8 (Basso Cilento) precipitation is expected especially starting from tomorrow evening. It should be noted that the particular disturbance in progress could lead to phenomena of hydrogeological instability: flooding, inundations, runoff, falling rocks and landslides will be possible in consideration of the fragility of the territories.
We remind the Mayors of all the Campania to activate the Municipal Operations Centers (COC), to implement all the measures provided for by the respective civil protection plans and to monitor public green areas and structures exposed to the stress of atmospheric agents. Considering the period, precipitation could be snowy especially above 1000 meters and, locally, also at lower altitudes.
