A tragic episode has shaken the community of Caserta, where a 14-year-old girl took her own life because her mother did not accept her sexual orientation.
The news was released by Arcigay Napoli which today speaks of a "homotransphobia emergency", also in light of the episode that led to the arrest in Naples of a violent father who beat and threatened his minor child because gay.
And regarding the Caserta affair, ArciGay explains that the authorities' investigations are currently exploring a complaint previously sent by the headmistress of the Leonardo-Lorenzini school to the Municipality's Social Services and to the Police.
According to information gathered, the family situation may have played a significant role in the drama. The young woman's mother, of Polish origin and with strong religious beliefs, would not have accepted her daughter's sexual identity, an aspect that law enforcement is carefully examining.
