Trudie Styler presented her documentary 'Can I Come In? An Ode to Naples' in London, a work dedicated to the city of Naples that has attracted great interest.
During the event at the Italian Cultural Institute, Styler shared his appreciation for the sense of community of Napoli, although he noticed a lack of job opportunities.
During the presentation, Styler described her special connection to the Campania capital. Her "love affair" with Naples, which began during a film festival in Ischia, is expressed through her narration of the lives of those who live in the city. The choice to dedicate an ode to Naples is rooted in a sincere connection between the author and the city's social fabric.
Styler recounted her personal and direct approach to Naples, strolling the streets and knocking on residents' doors to hear their stories. The Neapolitans' positive and welcoming response allowed her to deeply connect with the local culture, evoking memories of growing up in a village in northern England.
The event was attended by prominent figures, including the Italian Ambassador to the United Kingdom, Inigo Lambertini, the director of the Institute, Francesco Bongarrà, and the CEO of Rai Cinema, Paolo Del Brocco.
