Caserta – It's chaos at the Primary School of Parco degli Aranci, part of the Don Milani State Comprehensive Institute, where the warm ups They've been out of order practically since the beginning of the school year.
With the exception of a few days when school staff managed to get the systems running, classrooms are back to an image of times gone by: electric heaters to try to warm the children. A situation that has sparked the anger of parents, now exhausted after months of reports to the Municipality of Caserta, responsible for maintenance, remained without a concrete answer.
With the arrival of winter, protests have intensified, but no decisive action has been taken. For elementary school students, another freezing winter is looming.
The complex also houses a nursery school and a gym, served by a total of five boilers: the one in the gym has been replaced, while the nursery school has undergone ordinary maintenance, maintaining an acceptable condition. The fate of the primary school is different, where the three boilers work intermittently, leaving the classrooms at the mercy of the cold.
The last formal complaint from parents dates back to February 16, with a certified email sent to the Municipality in which they highlighted the “malfunctioning of the radiators”, causing “inadequate temperatures for teaching activities” and risks to the health of students and staff.
“Despite repeated reports,” the document states, “there are no concrete measures to resolve the problem.” A situation defined as “unacceptable” and in violation of the rules on safety and well-being in school environments.
The parents, now exasperated, launch an ultimatum: "The Municipality must intervene immediately to restore the system or replace the broken boilers". The ball is now in the administration's court, called upon to provide rapid responses to a matter that can no longer be postponed.
