Santa Maria Capua Vetere – A restaurant of sushi it was closed by the Carabinieri of the local Company, in collaboration with the Carabinieri Anti-adulteration and Health Unit (NAS) and the Carabinieri Labor Inspectorate Unit of Caserta, following serious violations found during an inspection.
During the inspection, the military discovered and seized over 200 kg of fish products without traceability, a fundamental element to guarantee food safety and consumer protection.
But the irregularities did not stop there: shortcomings in hygiene and safety at work were also detected, including the failure to carry out medical checks for staff and the failure to draw up a risk assessment document.
The restaurant owner was reported at liberty and fined 30.000 euros for multiple violations:
Violation of general hygiene requirements
Violation of food traceability obligations
Violations of food chain information
Failure to provide medical examination to workers
Failure to draft the risk assessment document
The Carabinieri operation is part of a series of checks aimed at ensuring public health safety and the regularity of commercial activities in the restaurant sector.
