The 30th edition of Cinema intorno al Vesuvio, Arci Movie's summer arena in the elegant Villa Bruno in San Giorgio a Cremano, is in full swing. The special Vesuvian location will host over fifty film and guest events until August, bringing to the big screen important films and protagonists of the Seventh Art, and more.
The Arci Movie initiative has been a significant cultural event between the eastern and Vesuvian areas of Naples for three decades. The event, in collaboration with the Municipality of San Giorgio a Cremano, after the first well-attended evenings, continues in the home of the Golden Mile with works that have enthralled, sparked discussion, excited and animated halls and audiences throughout Italy.
This year Cinema intorno al Vesuvio intersects with the Troisi Award through the special event on Wednesday 19 June, with free admission, with a tribute to Eduardo De Filippo for the fortieth anniversary of his death. The evening is dedicated to the screenings of short films made by schools from all over Italy that have been selected by the Arci Movie association as part of the Award dedicated to the well-known and talented actor and comedian from San Giorgio a Cremano. Many works have arrived from all over the Peninsula and four have been chosen from Campania, one from Tuscany and one from Calabria.
The screening of the short films in the Villa Bruno Arena will be accompanied by a delegation of teachers and students, and by presentations by Gino Rivieccio, artistic director of the Massimo Troisi Award, Mimmo Basso, operational director of the Teatro di Napoli, Giusi Gresia, of the Eduardo De Filippo Foundation, and Annamaria Sapienza, professor of Theatre History at the University of Salerno. The event will also feature readings from Eduardo De Filippo's works performed by actor Gianfelice Imparato, and a screening of the short film "Passerà la notte" by Mena Solipano, produced in collaboration with the San Giovanni Bosco Comprehensive Institute of Naples and inspired by the opera "Napoli milionaria."

The event continues on June 22 and 23 with another double screening of “Il segreto di Liberato”, directed by Francesco Lettieri and Giorgio Testi, centered on the story of Liberato, a Neapolitan with an unknown identity who, since 2017, has emerged thanks to the fusion of the Neapolitan neo-melodic tradition with electronic music and hip-hop influences. His debut on the scene was “Nove maggio”, a true national success, followed by “Tu t'e scurdat 'e me” and other songs that went viral.
