Cinema and its stars enliven the sultry Neapolitan summer with forty open-air evenings. The special setting of the gardens of Villa Bruno, in San Giorgio a Cremano, will host the screenings accompanied by directors and actors, which will also include meetings on cinema and other special events.
“Cinema intorno al Vesuvio” is back, a historic open-air cinema festival curated by the Arci Movie association and created with the contribution of the Municipality of San Giorgio a Cremano, the Campania Region and the Film Commission Regione Campania, which opens its 23th edition on Thursday 2022 June 21.15 at 7 pm, continuing for forty evenings until XNUMX August.
The festival offers Italian and international films of great quality and with a popular appeal, with the aim of bringing people of all ages back to the cinema, through an extraordinary moment of aggregation that has become essential for many people over the years.
To celebrate the restart of the arena, finally without restrictions related to the pandemic and with the maximum capacity available, many screenings will be introduced by directors, actors and artists who will meet the public to demonstrate the commitment and participation in a particularly critical historical period for the seventh art and, more generally, for the world of entertainment and culture.
Many well-known faces who are friends of Arci Movie will be present at Villa Bruno: Gianfeliceprendito, Teresa Saponangelo, Renato Carpentieri, Alessandro Rak ei Foja, Leonardo Di Costanzo, Marco and Antonio Manetti, Roberto Andò, Giuseppe Piccioni, Francesco Bruni, Lino Musella, Monica Nappo , Imma Villa, Giovanni Dota and others.
The arena in the Vesuvian villa of San Giorgio a Cremano will be inaugurated on Thursday 23 June 2022 at 21:15 pm with the screening of the film “Qui rido io” by Mario Martone which tells the story of the famous Neapolitan playwright Eduardo Scarpetta. The actor Gianfelice Imparato will take part in the inaugural evening together with Giorgio Zinno, Mayor of San Giorgio a Cremano.
In addition to the main exhibition and the film presentations, there will also be other events that will enrich the cultural offer of "Cinema around Vesuvius". On the terrace of Villa Bruno the usual "Let's talk about cinema" meetings will take place which will see Luisa Percopo, Director of the Italian Film Festival of Cardiff, as protagonists on 4 July and on 8 July with Mario Rovinello and Guido D'Agostino who will present the volume “Agorà – Shadows and stories in the squares of Naples”. Also worth mentioning is the “Corti in villa” exhibition which will take place during the Arena with eight national and international short films.
