Article Key Points
Objective: to guide cultural proposals towards sustainable and inclusive change.
A Cultural Path towards Sustainability
Through “Lost in Transition”, Blam has developed a zero-cost capacity building path, aimed at orienting cultural projects towards a sustainable methodology. This project has celebrated its success with several award-winning initiatives, including Assafà Festival, which are taking shape in Salerno, a city chosen as a cultural hub where such projects can amplify their impact.
An Event Dedicated to the Culture of the Image
Assafà Festival takes place from October 18th to 20th, marking its first edition with a focus on visual culture. The event is curated by Sciglio, a small local business specializing in illustration and screen printing, and is designed to create new opportunities for training and networking between young artists and industry professionals. The initiative is not limited to creativity but also embodies a strong commitment to environmental sustainability.
Artistic Explorations and Collaborations
Giulia Dall'Ara, illustrator and painter, has already participated in an artist residency, which ended last September 24th. During her stay, she interacted with the community of Salerno, exploring its rituals and traditions related to the feast of San Matteo, patron saint of the city. This open studio phase offered the opportunity to observe the birth of Dall'Ara's works.
Workshops and Creative Meetings
Assafà Festival is an important platform for the encounter between visual arts, design and craftsmanship. The program includes a series of workshops, discussions and meetings that span different creative fields such as illustration, photography and printing techniques. Among the protagonists of the weekend will be important artists and creatives, including Elena Campa and Lanificio Leo.
The Future of Cultural Welfare
In addition to Assafà Festival, “Lost in Transition” continues to fuel other cultural initiatives in Salerno, such as the “Tune the Town” workshop and the upcoming “Transurbanze” project. These initiatives aim to raise awareness on socio-environmental issues and promote an innovative model of cultural welfare, based on participation and responsibility. The ambition is to transform the city into an innovative cultural hub, supporting a transition towards a more sustainable and inclusive future.
