Vatican City – Today, further “slight improvements, both respiratory and motor” were recorded in the conditions of Pope Francis, who has been hospitalized since February 14 at the Policlinico Gemelli in Rome due to bilateral pneumonia.
The Holy See Press Office released the update, specifying that a new medical bulletin will be published “no earlier than Wednesday”.
Although the overall clinical picture of the Pontiff remains substantially stable, positive signs are evident in oxygenation. In fact, at certain times the Pope is able to temporarily do without oxygen therapy, which is currently administered through three methods: mechanical (mainly during the night), high flow (reduced compared to previous days) and ordinary, always with the aid of cannulas.
Particular attention was paid to Francis' ability to carry out certain activities, such as moving around the chapel to celebrate Mass or pray, without the need for oxygen support. This represents a further encouraging sign in the Holy Father's recovery process.
The situation remains under close observation by the medical team, which will continue to monitor the evolution of the Pope's condition in the coming days. Faithful around the world are confidently awaiting the next update, scheduled for Wednesday.
