The traditional demonstration 'Christmas in the Palace' returns to brighten up the holidays with a varied program designed to involve both adults and children. The event, scheduled from December 12, 2024 to January 6, 2025, is held at the suggestive Reggia di Portici and the Galoppatoio Reale. The event is organized by the Department of Agriculture of the University of Napoli Frederick II, in collaboration with the MUSA Center, and enjoys the patronage of the Metropolitan City of Naples and the Municipality of Portici.
Shows and Entertainment
Now in its eighth edition, 'Natale in Reggia' offers a series of shows, entertainment, and guided tours. Guests can enjoy theatrical performances such as 'Una passeggiata devota' with Isa Danieli, 'Semp'essa' with Rosalia Porcaro, and 'No no,…sì! Salvatore di Giacomo' with Rosaria De Cicco. A rich program is also designed for the little ones, with musical tales and shows such as 'The Adventures of the Nutcracker Prince' and 'Little Santa Claus'. Music will play a central role with the free concert of the Scarlatti Young Orchestra on December 16.
Tastings and Crafts
Within the event, from 12 to 22 December, there will be a market exhibition with about 30 exhibitors offering a wide range of gift ideas, Christmas decorations, typical products and gastronomic specialties. The stands will be located in the spaces of the Royal Galoppatoio, allowing visitors to discover unusual corners of the Reggia. Entrance to the exhibition is free.
Scientific disclosure
In addition to the entertainment events, there will be scientific stations run by researchers and staff of the Department of Frederick II who will share experiments and research. This combination of science and entertainment is intended to offer visitors an educational experience in the historical context of the Royal Palace of Portici. Visitors will have access to a large parking lot and the possibility of bringing small dogs, making the event accessible and welcoming for the whole family.

The 'Christmas in the Palace' event looks very interesting and offers a wide variety of activities for everyone, but I wonder if there will be enough seats for the concerts and shows that are planned, I hope so.
