Treviso. A 56-year-old man from Naples has been reported by the Carabinieri for fraud in conjunction with unknown persons, having persuaded at least four people, mostly elderly residents of the Treviso area, to hand over money and valuables to him to cover fictitious "deposits" related to road accidents caused by relatives.

Faced with the stories of the episodes given by the suspect, who presented himself as a lawyer or a carabiniere, the victims had been convinced to pay the requested amounts in order to avoid legal complications for the relatives involved in the narrated facts, which in reality were completely non-existent.

Overall, the assets stolen from the elderly people defrauded were quantified at 46.800 euros. The investigating judge of Treviso ordered the reported man, the terminal of a larger organization, to remain at his domicile in Naples.
