Piazza Pace Parking: Work to Begin in September. Diplomatico: “20-year-old problem solved.”
The long bureaucratic process for the parking area in the city center has ended. At the end of the work there will be 70 new parking spaces. Diplomat: "My administration has solved a problem that had been dragging on for 20 years."
The long bureaucratic process for the area near Piazza Pace, which in the coming months will become a parking lot for 70 cars, was concluded in recent days. The work will begin in September and, including the expropriations already carried out, will have a total cost of about one million euros. The work, video-monitored and illuminated, will include an entrance and exit from via Tenente Angelo Cirillo, and an entrance from via Luisa Sanfelice.
The comment of the mayor of Boscoreale Antonio Diplomatico: “The Piazza Pace parking lot will finally be a reality. We concluded the long bureaucratic process in recent days, definitively closing the issue of expropriations and related payments. For this reason, in the last few hours we carried out an inspection with the company that won the contract and with the municipal technicians to verify the state of the places and set the start date of the works: it will be next September. We are finally putting an end to a bureaucratic dispute that has been going on for 20 years, long before I began my mandate.
We have solved a problem that no other administration has been able to solve. We have filled gaps in acts and documents that no one who preceded me has worried about.
That area would have remained like that and there would have always been proclamations about the parking lot, but never facts. This was possible thanks to the work that I have done daily together with the deputy mayor Francesco Faraone, the councilor Luca Giordano, with the contribution of the former councilor Francesco d'Aquino and the constant commitment of the head of public works Sergio De Prisco.
Piazza Pace will have its parking area which, in step with the work on the Town Hall, will allow better use of the Authority's offices by citizens. The entrepreneurs in the area will be able to reschedule their activities, taking into account the 70 parking spaces and a new livability.
