The Natural and Physical Sciences Museum Center of the University of Napoli Frederick II presents the event “I AM A MAN! Beyond the walls of discrimination” on the occasion of the XX Week of Action Against Racism.
The initiative promoted by the National Office Against Racial Discrimination aims to combat ethnic discrimination, spreading values of multiculturalism, inclusion and social cohesion. The event, included in the cultural activities of the Museum of Anthropology, aims to deconstruct the old "theory of human races" and support the fight against intolerance and racism.
The event, sponsored by UNAR, is aimed at school children, university students and the public and will be held on March 21st at the Monumental Hall of the Real Museo Mineralogico at 10.00:XNUMX am. The topics will be addressed from different perspectives during the day, starting with institutional greetings from Prof. Piergiulio Cappelletti, Director of the Museum Center, and Prof. Francesco Dandolo, Delegate of the Rector for Policies on migrants and refugees of the university.
University students, writers and researchers will share their experiences of integration and address the issue of discrimination from various angles. Hafiza Mahdiyar from Afghanistan and Thierno Mamoudou Diallo from Guinea will talk about integration at the University, followed by a conversation on discrimination between Dr. Anna Maria Gehnyei and journalist Michelangelo Iossa. Finally, with historical and contemporary contributions, Dr. Renato Raffaele Amoroso from the University of Naples Federico II and Dr. Mattia Musterà from Sapienza University of Rome will analyze the isolation and discrimination of populations and ethnic groups.
