Caivano. ARPA Campania is currently carrying out investigations to assess the environmental effects of the fire that broke out last night in Caivano.

The Arpac technicians, in collaboration with the Prefecture and the Municipality, carried out an inspection for theidentify the burned material, which consisted mainly of paper, plastic, metal processing waste and office supplies.
The fire broke out in the offices of a metal profile processing company, also involving the adjacent workshop. The firefighters intervened promptly, putting out the flames.
Air quality monitoring
The air quality monitoring station located in the Stir of Caivano did not detect, between yesterday evening and this morning, any anomalies in the concentrations of pollutants, with values that remained below the legal limits.
The presence of one ventilation from the west is promoting the mixing of the air, reducing concentrations and transporting pollutants eastwards.
Other air quality monitoring stations in thearea east of Caivano have not recorded concentrations exceeding the legal limits, with the exception of PM10. Yesterday, in fact, there were exceedances of the daily limit for PM10 throughout the region, due to a general influx of dust from the Sahara.
Dioxin and furan monitoring
In addition to the activities already underway, theArpa has started monitoring of dioxins and furans dispersed in the atmosphere, using a high-volume sampler positioned near the fire site.
