Naples. The "Stadera loan sharks" group, led by notorious criminal Angelo Alfieri, were acting on behalf of the Contini clan. They were arrested this morning during a Carabinieri raid on orders from the Naples Anti-Mafia Directorate.
The courageous denunciation of one of the entrepreneurs of the area who had been under usury for over ten years triggered the investigations and arrests today.
The group applied usurious rates higher than 100% monthly on loans granted. And so two entrepreneurial brothers from Poggioreale had ended up in the grip of usury and extortion for about ten years, between "remodulations of loans" and new lines opened to pay previous creditors.
The “accounting” sheets under the mattress
During a search, the Carabinieri found under the mattress of one of the two women subject to the precautionary measure a sheet of paper with the amounts owed by the two brothers and the due dates of the installments written on it.
Evidentiary material of interest for the purposes of the precautionary measure that was ordered by the investigating judge of the court of Naples and carried out by the military of the operational unit of Poggioreale and by those of the investigative unit of Naples and Castello di Cisterna.
The measure with the accusation of Wear and aggravated extortion hit 15 people: eight ended up in prison and seven under house arrest. One, however, managed to escape the handcuffs and is wanted.
