The “Francesco De Gennaro” Hotel Institute expands its training offer with a new headquarters in the heart of Gragnano. This morning, the mayor of the Metropolitan City of Napoli, Gaetano Manfredi, inaugurated the new school complex located in the Nola side street of Via Roma, marking an important milestone for the students of the area.
The new, cutting-edge facility designed to meet modern teaching needs consists of nine functional classrooms, three office spaces and related services. This expansion will allow students from Gragnano and Monti Lattari to follow lessons more easily without having to travel to Vico Equense, the institute's historic headquarters. The new location is located in the Gragnano area, famous throughout the world for its pasta production and traditional panuozzo, and represents a further boost for the training of future professionals in the food and wine and hospitality sectors.
“This day is an important moment for many young people who, from today, will be able to attend school without having to make demanding trips to Vico Equense, thus optimizing the time they dedicate to studying”, declared Mayor Manfredi during the ceremony. “The opening of this office will also contribute to decongesting the mobility system of the coastal area, which is already particularly complex.”
The inauguration event was attended by numerous local authorities, including the mayor of Gragnano, Nello D'Auria, the metropolitan councilor delegated to school buildings, Ilaria Abagnale, the head teacher of the Institute, Beatrice Rosa Russo, the councilor for schools of the Campania Region, Lucia Fortini, and other representatives of local institutions.
Manfredi then underlined the strategic importance of investing in school infrastructures: “We have made the largest investment in Italy in this sector, and we are convinced that this is the right path to guarantee our young people the best conditions to train and face the future.”
Great satisfaction was also expressed by the councilor abagnale, which underlined the role of Gragnano as a world leader in the catering sector: “This institute will allow our kids to acquire all the skills needed to meet the challenges of the job market. They will be able to stay in their area, contributing to local development and building a future for themselves and for generations to come.”
