A patient insults, threatens, and then assaults a nurse in the emergency room of the Vecchio Pellegrini Hospital in Naples.
This is yet another attack against healthcare workers reported by the Nessuno Tocchi Ippocrate Association.
Today, around 14pm, a patient of Algerian origin was transported by 118 to first aid for an injury sustained during a fight. At triage, the nurse on duty, noting that the injury was not serious, invited the patient to remain on the stretcher while waiting his turn to avoid possible falls.
However, the man reacted violently, first threatening and severely insulting the nurse, including with sexually explicit phrases, and then moving on to physical aggression.
Fortunately, the timely intervention of the other patients present, together with the security guards and a policeman, made it possible to stop the man, who was immobilized, thus avoiding the worst.
