Seismic requalification interventions on school buildings damaged by bradyseism have started a few days ago Campi Flegrei, as part of a program aimed at making public facilities in the area safe.
Work has begun on two buildings: the Artiaco middle school, with an investment of 6,42 million euros, and the gymnasium of the Pergolesi middle school, for an amount of 1,62 million euros. The announcement was made this morning during the meeting “Program for public interventions in the Phlegraean Fields” held at the Artiaco complex of the Istituto Comprensivo 5 Artiaco Diaz in Pozzuoli.
Present at the event were the Undersecretary to the Presidency of the Council Alfredo Mantovano, the Extraordinary Commissioner for the Phlegraean Fields Fulvio Maria Soccodato, the President of the Campania Region Vincenzo De Luca, the Prefect of Naples Michele Di Bari, the Regional Director of the State Property Agency Mario Parlagreco and the mayors of the Phlegraean area.
In October 2024, the Extraordinary Commissioner identified and financed four priority interventions on municipal school buildings in Pozzuoli, made unusable by the earthquake of the same year. The State Property Agency was designated as the Implementing Body and Contracting Authority, and the Campania Regional Directorate has already started work on two schools.
Meanwhile, interventions on two other structures are in the planning phase: the Montenuovo nursery school, with an expected investment of 2,9 million euros and work starting at the end of January 2025, and the Palazzetto dello Sport Errico, for a total of 3,71 million euros and start scheduled for March 2025.
