San Giuseppe Vesuviano. A real open-air workshop for recycling stolen cars was discovered. On a piece of land in via Muscettoli, the Carabinieri surprised three people intent on dismantling a black Smart. Only a few pieces of the small car remained, lying on the ground and probably ready to be resold as spare parts.

A few meters away, another car carcass lay, also dismantled. The license plates still present on the vehicles allowed investigators to connect them to two thefts reported in recent days, one in Salerno and the other in San Sebastiano al Vesuvio.

The three, already known to the police, were arrested on the spot, tools still in hand, and taken to house arrest. The charges against them are money laundering and receiving stolen goods.

The cars had been stolen in Salerno and San Sebastiano al Vesuvio

The operation ofCarabinieri underlines once again the importance of widespread checks on the territory to combat the phenomenon of theft and illegal dismantling of vehicles, often destined for a black market for spare parts.

I agree with you, it is not the first time we hear of similar thefts, I hope that the authorities continue to monitor the situation and take adequate measures to prevent future incidents.

It's incredible how you can get to do things like this, dismantling stolen cars in broad daylight. The Carabinieri controls are essential to stop these illegal activities that ruin the community.
