The small "La Mennola" theater on Via Salvator Calenda in Salerno opens its doors to a new production by director Antonello De Rosa, entitled "The Last Journey." This work, the fruit of six months of in-depth research, explores the dramatic events of deportation to concentration camps, drawing on historical documents relating to life in the Birkenau camp.
A trip down memory lane
De Rosa emphasizes the importance of reporting the stories of the survivors, stating that "it is not an idea of an author but I report in full everything that the last survivors have told so that the Shoah is not a simple memory but a warning, strong, so that all this never happens again". The actors Rosanna De Bonis, Mario Capone, Simona Avallone and Maria Giuseppina Russo of the Scena Teatro company will try to convey to the public the intensity and horror of those moments.
