Naples - A 44-year-old man, already known to law enforcement, was arrested yesterday morning by the State Police on charges of escape and aggravated robbery.
The incident occurred at the turnstiles of the station Circumvesuviana of Garibaldi Square.
According to the reconstruction, the officers of the Vasto-Arenaccia police station intervened after a report of an assault.
At the scene, officers were approached by a victim who reported having been robbed.
The victim identified a nearby individual as the perpetrator. Officers promptly apprehended the suspect, discovering that shortly before, he had used an excuse to convince the victim to hand over her cell phone. The robber then attacked the victim with a pair of scissors to ensure his escape.
Investigations revealed that the man was already under house arrest, further aggravating his situation. The stolen cell phone was recovered and returned to its rightful owner.
