Il Federal Council of the FIGC confirmed Umberto Calcagno (AIC) as deputy vice president and Daniele Ortolano (Lega Dilettanti) as vice-president of the Federation.
In addition, members of the Presidential Committee: Ezio Simonelli, president of the Serie A League, and Matteo Marani, number one of the Lega Pro, representing the professional sector. For the Amateurs, instead, was reconfirmed Giancarlo Fir, president of the LND.
At the end of the Council, the president of the FIGC, Gabriele Gravina, reiterated the urgency of a reform of the Italian football system, stressing that it should have been done a long time ago: “Reducing Serie A from 20 to 18 teams is not the real problem. The current system makes the formats unsustainable and forces clubs to sustain enormous costs just to avoid relegation to Lega Pro”, Gravina declared.
The number one of FIGC he then insisted on the need for rapid intervention to ensure the sustainability of the football movement, also referring to the recent Covisoc checks on club balance sheets: "We need to speed up, because it is a systemic need. There is broad agreement between all the leagues and the players' association to start a structural change".
