Naples – It is an internal vendetta within the Sanità department, the product of alliances, blood and silence, that led to the murder of Emanuele Durante , killed last March 15th.
The Sequino clan, recently reorganized after the release of some of its members, is believed to have decided and ordered the execution. Among those arrested is Salvatore Pellecchia, son of Silvestro—brother of Maria Grazia Pellecchia , mother of Emanuele Tufano , another young victim of the urban feud.
The crimes of the two boys, as confirmed by the investigations, are connected, both at the center of a joint investigation between the Ordinary Prosecutor's Office and the District Anti-Mafia Office: the murder of Tufano, which occurred on October 24, 2024, and that of Durante.
According to investigators, Tufano was killed by friendly fire during a firefight between rival gangs in the Sanità and Mercato neighborhoods : 14 people were involved, including 6 minors.
The shootout—which began on Via Antonietta De Pace and ended on Via Carminiello al Mercato —was conducted in typical Camorra fashion: five weapons in action, bursts of gunfire fired at chest height, the aim being to kill.
But it was the murder of Tufano, the clan's symbolic son, that triggered the Sequinos ' reaction . Durante wasn't hit just out of revenge—investigators emphasize—but to reaffirm the group's criminal supremacy over Sanità , at a time when its credibility was being called into question.
The Sequino clan wants to reassert its dominance over the Sanità district
His behavior and ties with one of the suspects were interpreted as "offensive" by the clan, who reacted with the language they know best: that of lead.
Behind the Durante murder, the clan's desire to reinstate terror in the region appears to be, once again, evident. The investigations—conducted by the Naples Flying Squad and the Carabinieri Investigative Unit —have clearly delineated the roles, perpetrators, and dynamics. The Camorra speaks with blood once again, and once again, it is twenty-year-olds who are the ones dying.

Reading the article, it seems clear to me that the situation in Sanità is very complex and dangerous. The murders seem to be linked to internal clan dynamics, but it remains to be seen if there are possible solutions to stop this violence.
