A couple from Pomigliano died yesterday evening in a serious road accident which occurred along the Sicignano-Potenza motorway junction 5, near the tunnel in the municipality of Buccino, in the province of Salerno.
The collision involved a private Marino bus and a Toyota. The couple in the car, aged 74 and 69, lost their lives. On a two-way stretch of road, the double-decker bus and the car collided head-on. The car was traveling northbound and was returning home in Pomigliano.
On site Anas, Eboli Fire Department, ambulances and PolStrada of Potenza. The junction was closed with a diversion to Vietri di Potenza for several hours. On site the magistrate on duty. The intervention of cranes and vehicles was necessary to remove the vehicles.
The traffic police carried out all the investigations to ascertain the dynamics of the accident and establish any responsibilities.
