The Sports Judge has requested further investigations, which will be conducted by prosecutor Chiné, who intends to conclude the proceedings within the week in order to reach a definitive decision and clarify the truth of the facts. The direct testimonies of the two players will be fundamental, around which the utmost confidentiality has been maintained.
Acerbi and Jesus have resumed training at their respective sports centers, while the hearings should be scheduled remotely for the following day. The Inter defender is expected to give his deposition from Pinetina, assisted by a federal inspector, while the Azzurri player will connect from Naples.
In the meantime, the Prosecutor's Office has already acquired the television images of the match and may also hear the referee Federico La Penna. During the hearings, both players will maintain the positions already expressed publicly, with Acerbi attributing the episode to a misunderstanding on the field.
The final decision will be up to the Sports Judge, who will rule next week on the basis of the report from the Federal Prosecutor's Office. If the accusations of racist insults were confirmed, the Inter defender would risk a disqualification of at least ten games, as provided for by article 28 paragraph 2 of the Sports Justice Code.
In the meantime, the Nerazzurri club has started talks with their player, who was forced to leave the national team's retreat following the incident.
