Earthquake of magnitude 5 in the province of Cosenza: fear among the many Neapolitans on vacation

At 21pm a earthquake of magnitude 5.0 was recorded, at a depth of 21 km, three kilometers from Pietrapaola, a municipality in the Cosenza area on the Ionian coast.

At 21pm a second shock was recorded, of magnitude 51 at a depth of 2.3 km, again in the same area.

The third recorded shock occurred at 22pm with a magnitude that the INGV ascribes to between 53 and 2.8.

“A strong earthquake of magnitude 5 with its epicentre in Pietrapaola, in the Cosenza area, but felt throughout the Calabria. So much fear, people on the streets, and understandable concern."
