It was a chalet of Castel Volturno the drug distribution center for the clans of camorra di Napoli and Caserta. The joint operation of the Carabinieri of the investigative unit led to the dismantling of a criminal organization dedicated to the trafficking of hashish and cocaine between the provinces of Naples and Caserta.
The raid, which took place in a villa in Castel Volturno, led to the arrest of three men and a woman in flagrante delicto: Giuseppe Giordano, Michele Carbone, Ernesto De Felice and Maria Grimaldi.
During the search of the house and the courtyard, the military found and seized a large quantity of narcotics: 745 kg of hashish and 5 kg of marijuana, for a total value of approximately 3 million euros. The drugs were packaged in blocks and packages of various sizes, ready to be placed on the market.
The four arrested, taken by surprise by the raid of the carabinieri, did not resist. In addition to the drugs, 19 bullets of various calibers, a pistol magazine, 60 grams of cocaine and doses of narcotics intended for the ovulatory couriers were seized.
The operation represents a hard blow to drug trafficking in the area north of Naples, which occurred a few days after the seizure of 81 kg of pure cocaine on outer ring road of San Pietro a Patierno. The four arrested are now in prison, accused of possession for the purpose of dealing of narcotics, aggravated by the large quantity, and illegal possession of weapons.
