“Chased, insulted and threatened by a group of local fans”. This is the complaint of the regional councilor of Campania Pasquale Di Fenza who reports a “attempted assault” against him and a friend of his, yesterday, at the end of the Frosinone-Napoli match, won by the Azzurri.
The facts, as stated in a note from Di Fenza, occurred at the end of the match when the regional councillor, group leader of Centro Democratico, and his friend were chased by four Ciociari fans who allegedly inveighed against them, calling them names. “Neapolitans of s.”.
At the height of the chase, the four stopped Di Fenza's friend, who denied being a Napoli fan "to avoid contact". “I am very sorry for what happened, it is not possible that after a football match, one must be afraid to leave the stadium because some thugs are ready to vent their frustrations”, says Di Fenza.
“I would like to thank the President of Frosinone Stirpe who granted me accreditation in the stands to watch the match, I compliment the club and the prefecture who organised an optimal security service, it's a shame for this ugly stain that is bad for football, for the Ciociara fans and for Serie A.
We were very scared but fortunately we got through it. It could have ended very badly. It is not the first time that dramatic episodes, like the death of the young Ciro Esposito, start just like this, from an attempted attack. With the new government - he concludes - we hope that the pace in the stadiums will change".
