The Provincial Command of the Guardia di Finanza of Naples, during a series of operations carried out between the capital and the metropolitan area, seized over 100.000 counterfeit and/or “unsafe” products, typical of the Halloween holiday, including costumes, masks, toys and balloons.

The items were found to lack the minimum safety certifications and instructions for use, and therefore harmful to the health of consumers, especially the little ones.
The identified responsible parties are 12 in total, of which 4 reported to the Judicial Authority, for the crimes of commercial fraud, sale of products with false markings and receiving stolen goods, and 8 reported to the Chamber of Commerce for administrative violations.
In particular, the “Green Berets” of Napoli, in the very centre of the city, they identified a warehouse with over 20.000 counterfeit items managed by a Senegalese citizen who organised the sorting of the fake goods together with two other compatriots, to then sell them in the areas most frequented by tourists.
Still related to the Halloween theme, another 73.000 items, unsafe and harmful to health, displayed for sale, were seized during a second intervention carried out inside a commercial establishment in the Industrial Zone of Naples, managed by a citizen of Chinese origin.
During the economic control activities of the territory in the neighborhoods of Poggioreale and Barra as well as in the municipality of Portici, the financial police of the 2nd Metropolitan Operational Nucleus and the Portici Company seized a total of over 5.000 items, in violation of the Consumer Code.

.Pursuant to the same legislation, also between Pozzuoli, Casalnuovo di Napoli, Nola and Santa Maria la Carità, the territorially competent Corps Departments, in separate interventions, identified and seized over 8.000 pieces, ready to be sold in view of the celebration, inside 5 commercial establishments.
The device adopted to protect the sector takes on even more relevance if one considers the close correlation between counterfeit goods and unsafe products.
