It will be a return to the origins, to the essence of rock 'n' roll for Piero Pelù who is the protagonist this summer on the stage of the main Italian festivals. The new album “Deserti”
The 2024 tour focuses on Pelù’s new album, “Deserti,” available in all digital stores and in stores on the Epic Records/Sony Music Italy label. This concept album is the second chapter of the “Trilogy of Discomfort,” which began in 2020 with “Pugili fragile.” Pelù explained that the time off he was forced to take due to his tinnitus allowed him to reflect and engage with other artists, leading him to create an album that explores the deserts and desertifications to which society is becoming accustomed without finding the strength to react.
Album tracks
“Deserti” is composed of 12 tracks, 11 unreleased and an unplugged version of the famous pacifist manifesto “Il mio nome è mai più”. This song, written together with Luciano Ligabue and Lorenzo Jovanotti in 1999, was republished to celebrate 25 years since its release. All proceeds from the sale of the original song were donated to Emergency’s humanitarian activities in various parts of the world.
Social commitment
Piero Pelù is known for his commitment to numerous social, political and environmental battles since the 80s. Also for this tour, Pelù has chosen to support the projects of Emergency, the association founded by Gino Strada and Teresa Sarti. The artist has collaborated with Emergency in many past initiatives and continues to support their humanitarian projects.
